Conor McGregor Left ‘Shaking In Bed’ After Being Struck Down With Aussie Flu That’s Killed Several In Ireland Already

Conor McGregor had his New Year’s Eve plans ruined after being struck down with Australian Flu.

The MMA star took to his Instagram account to tell fans that he and his family had been left bed bound after getting the illness – with some of his family so bad they even had to go to hospital.

Fortunately for McGregor, he didn’t need a trip to A&E but did spend the day ‘shaking in bed’ after picking up the virus.

He jokingly (I hope it was a joke, anyway) posted that he had ‘never even been to Australia’ but had been put through an ‘intense few days’, adding that he had to cancel a party last minute.

However, it wasn’t all bad, because McGregor also reflected on his highlight of the year – which wasn’t the paycheque he picked up from his fight with Mayweather, you cynical bastards. It was the birth of his little boy Conor Jr., who is properly cute.

Well that was a wild New Year’s Eve. Half the family hit with the Australian flu virus and some even left in hospital with it. I’ve never even been to Australia wtf.

One of the most intense few days I’ve gone thru. Big New Year’s Eve party cancelled at the last minute and I am left shaking in bed the past two days. I’ll leave that with the rest of the bad behind me in 2017 and take with me the many great experiences I’ve had this year!

None greater than the birth of my son Conor Jr. and the continued support of my family, my friends and my dedicated staff through thick and thin.

2018 I may go back to the back pages instead of the front pages again but I have a feeling these journalists now just want me in the obituary pages so we shall see.

The illness has been making headlines this week as there have been a small number of deaths as a result of the virus in Ireland, according to the Health Service Executive.

According to doctors in the UK are suggesting we could see ‘the worst outbreak’ of Aussie Flu in 50 years, as official figures reveal cases ‘more than doubled in just one week’.

 

The report says government statistics show 1,111 people were struck down with flu as temperatures dropped last week – a 156 per cent jump on the previous week.

The HSE is also urging people – particularly those in high-risk groups – to get the flu vaccination.

In a statement, the executive said the number of reported cases of flu had increased in the week before Christmas and flu ‘is now actively circulating in Ireland’.
